YAZOO is one of the few flavoured milk drinks that meets the tough UK government regulations for use in England and Wales Schools.
There are VERY strict laws in Europe about what can and what cannot be put into a drink, and in what quantities. At Campina we make sure that all of our ingredients are of the highest standard and fall well within legal limits.
In fact when we got a qualified nutritionist, Dr Jennie Cockroft BSc PhD RPHNutr, Director of Nutrition, Purely Nutrition Ltd, to look at the nutritional value of YAZOO this is what she told us!

- YAZOO is made with semi-skimmed milk (in fact over 90% of the content in YAZOO is milk!)
- To get those great YAZOO flavours we use very small amounts of the following ingredients:
- Chocolate flavour YAZOO gets its chocolatey taste from fat-reduced cocoa powder, plus a little caramel flavour to give a rounded taste.
- Strawberry and banana YAZOO use a combination of fruit juice and natural flavours to make them taste great.
- YAZOO is a long life milk. This means the milk is heat treated to kill the bacteria that naturally exist in raw milk and keeps YAZOO safe to drink for up to 3 months, even when not stored in the fridge. So you can always keep a bottle of YAZOO handy in your cupboard. When you're ready to drink, simply chill and treat as fresh milk.
